A Vision for FLEXspace: Flexible Learning Environments Exchange
FLEXspace is a robust, rich-media interactive OER database designed to share and evaluate different types of learning spaces. The project began as a SUNY Innovative Instruction proof of concept in partnership with ARTstor. Building on lessons learned, a small group of stakeholders from SUNY, CCUMC, MERLOT, and ELI drafted a vision for how to capitalize on the core strengths of each these organizations to create a shared, highly available, low-cost, self-sustaining production service for higher education and other potential stakeholders. Following a brief review of the vision statement and demonstration of the current solution, meeting participants will be asked to share feedback and ideas to further refine and realize the vision for FLEXspace.
