Encouraging Student Collaboration & Video Literacy Via Peer Review

On Demand
Session Type: Industry and Campus Session
Delivery Format: On-Demand
Getting students to engage with each other is hard. It is especially difficult to do so in large lectures or online classes. This session will present the findings of a study examining the impact of peer review for student-created videos. We show how video-based peer review facilitates collaborative engagement and active learning in large/online courses, while simultaneously improving student media literacy. This session will describe the study and give detailed instructions for guiding students through the assignment in such a way that does not require any prerequisite training in video creation, for the teachers or the students.
