LSRS v.3 and FLEXspace: Integrated Tools to Improve Learning Spaces from Data to Dream!

Thursday, May 20 | 2:15PM–3:00PM ET
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Live Session

Integrated use of the LSRS v.3 (Learning Space Rating System) and FLEXspace (Flexible Learning Environments eXchange), free tools available to educational institutions, helps campus teams involve multiple stakeholders to benchmark, prioritize, plan, design, and assess learning space projects, while ensuring alignment of campus spaces with strategic master plans. Tapping into the LSRS and FLEXspace community, with its expanding emphasis on curating and sharing research and evidence of impact, can be a very empowering strategy to engage faculty, facilities planners, IT, AV, and librarians to bring their unique professionalism and perspective to benefit the institution and students in a holistic manner. In this session, presenters will detail new dimensions of the LSRS v.3 and integration into FLEXspace and share a case study and example spaces rated with the new LSRS v.3. Next, presenters will demonstrate the collaborative FLEXspace features such as Idea Boards and Galleries and show how to use FLEXspace to easily find and share learning space examples, planning and assessment tools, research findings, and more. Finally, presenters will demonstrate a quantitative and qualitative data model to walk participants through an easy-to-replicate pathway for stakeholder engagement and integrated learning space planning.
