Assessing Impact: Approaches and Designs for Answering Practical Questions About Technology Implementation

Beginning with the framing of researchable questions, this presentation will review a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods that can be used to investigate the impact of technology on teaching and learning. These will be explored in terms of the types of questions they can answer, the sorts of data, data collection, and data analyses they entail, and the kinds of evidence they provide. The emphasis will be on the development of data-based answers to practical and actionable questions.
