Opencast Matterhorn Project: Collaborating to Develop an Open-Source Platform for the Delivery of Rich Media for Teaching and Learning

The Opencast Community is a collaboration of higher education institutions working together to explore, define, and document podcasting best practices and technologies. The Opencast Matterhorn Project is a focused community-source effort contributed to by 13 of these organizations to develop an open-source platform to support the capture, processing, and delivery of video and audio podcasts, as well as tools with which the learner can engage more deeply with the material. The project aims, through this very flexible and extensible SOA platform, to improve sustainability, lower costs, and enhance teaching and learning. Join this webinar to learn more about the community, the project, the product, and the vision. We will speak to the pedagogical impact we have seen on our campuses, the experience of our faculty and students, and what we hope to achieve through joining together to address our challenges.
