Overview

Colleges and universities create, collect, and manage enormous stores of data that, when used ethically and effectively, can help higher education tackle many of its biggest challenges. Good data governance can ensure data are of high quality, conform to standards and legal requirements, and are accessible. Institutions with mature data governance programs can also foster greater transparency, increased collaboration, and improved communication across the institution. This lab will help serve as a starting point for data governance, introducing methods for creating or updating your institution's data governance structure to be able to utilize your data more effectively in ways that align with your community.
