Managing budgets today means preparing for tough decisions tomorrow. Whether you're leading a small unit or overseeing enterprise-wide investments, the stakes are high. Too often, budget cuts and year-end spending happen reactively. This Learning Lab will guide you in building a values-driven financial roadmap that fosters proactive, strategic decision-making. You’ll be equipped with a framework that strengthens your stewardship role and aligns fiscal choices with institutional priorities.

NOTE: You will be asked to complete assignments in between the Learning Lab segments that support the learning outcomes stated below. You will receive feedback and constructive critique from course facilitators.

• Explore your unit’s brand, funding model, and value proposition
• Examine the impact of fiscal cuts and allocations on services and reputation
• Build strategies for governance and stakeholder engagement
• Prioritize services and tools through a collective, future-focused lens
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and innovation
• Develop a three-year fiscal roadmap aligned to strategic goals
