Overview
Project management in higher education involves significant work turning information throughout the project life cycle into useful tools and artifacts for project teams and stakeholders. AI offers practical ways to support this work at different stages of the project life cycle.
This Learning Lab explores ways to use AI to streamline and enhance the work of project management. Participants will both explore and practice using AI across the project life cycle. In these four sessions, participants will use a real project from their own institution to develop four connected artifacts: Project Charter, Project Schedule, Project Status Report, and Lessons Learned Summary. Throughout the lab, participants will consider the importance of human review, institutional policies, accuracy, and other considerations for using AI responsibly in project management.
Participants will:
NOTE: You will be asked to complete assignments in between the Learning Lab segments that support the learning outcomes stated below. You will receive feedback and constructive critique from course facilitators.
- Apply AI to support project management activities and artifacts across the project life cycle.
- Evaluate and refine AI-assisted work using human judgment.
- Adapt the project management artifacts and AI approaches developed in the lab for use within their own institution.
- Apply AI responsibly within their institutional context.
