Member QuickTalk | Active Learning in the Time of COVID-19

In this EDUCAUSE member event – focused on conversation rather than presentation and in partnership with FLEXspace.org, we’ll discuss how the COVID-19 global health pandemic is bringing about short and long-term challenges related to the future of active, collaborative, and hands-on learning.

The Covid-19 global health pandemic is bringing about changes in teaching and learning, and the definition of “learning spaces.” What does this mean for active, collaborative, and hands-on learning, and how are IT units, faculty developers, and instructors preparing for these changes?

What are the challenges, and what could be some solutions/approaches to the following in this “new world”?

  • Group work, collaborative spaces, and hands-on learning
  • Attendance vs. engagement
  • How Faculty/Students moderate effectively
  • How these challenges differ between:
    • F2F
    • Online
    • HyFlex
