Campus Pride and the Huffington Post have named Connecticut College one of the nation's friendliest campuses for LGBTQ students in 2013 and 2014. Learn how Connecticut College implemented a solution where students, faculty, and staff who wish to be identified by a preferred name can enter that name, and it will appear in most college systems. While anyone is welcome to use a preferred name, there are several groups of people for whom this option is invaluable. Students are able to select a preferred name to be used in the online campus directory, class lists, grade reports, course schedules, Moodle, portal, and campus ID.
OUTCOMES: Learn about a viable technical solution that requires minimal effort * Obtain a roadmap of how to accomplish a preferred name solution * Hear about our lessons learned
