Remote CART Improves Access to Teaching and Learning

In this session we will learn together about the benefits of using remote CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) to make teaching and learning more accessible to students. By means of an interactive presentation, you will experience how remote CART gives students the opportunity to follow class interaction with the support of live captions. We will introduce you to the Remote CART project requested by our Brown Student and Employee Accessibility Services (SEAS) and we will describe and analyze our first Fall 2018 setup for Global History of Art and Architecture. Our session will be live captioned.

Outcomes: Learn about Remote CART and its applications to teaching and learning * Understand the setup for different classroom scenarios: big versus small classroom * Participate to and assess the live Remote CART session during our interactive presentation
