NERCOMP Annual Conference Cancellation FAQ

Why is the NERCOMP Annual Conference moving from a face-to-face to an online experience?

  • Many of our NERCOMP attendees are now subject to travel bans and also need to stay close to their campuses to help manage the evolving health situation. In the past few days we have seen a growing number of cancellations, including presenters, which threatened to erode the quality of the experience for attendees.
  • The final decision was made not longer after Rhode Island's Governor Raimondo issued a proclamation stating, "Do not organize or attend events that will be attended by 250 people or more."
  • The health and safety of our event attendees and staff is our highest priority, and moving to an online event is our way of preserving the value of the NERCOMP event experience during a time with COVID-19 travel and gathering concerns.

What will happen to my registration?

  • Conference registration fees for the 2020 NERCOMP Annual Conference, March 23–25, will automatically be transferred to the online event. Workshop and other add-on registration fees will be refunded if suitable alternatives are not found to replace the experiences.
  • More information on the online program will be available in the coming weeks. We understand the online format might not be for everyone. If you want a full registration refund, please contact [email protected] by June 15, 2020.

What should I do about my hotel reservation?

  • The Omni Providence will refund rooms canceled more than 48 hours in advance of the reservation date. Please follow the guidance in the confirmation email you received from the Omni or call the hotel directly at 401-598-8000 with any questions.

What about other travel expenses?

We are unable to provide refunds for travel expenses. In terms of air travel, many airlines are now offering flight waivers and accommodations for specific travel dates and destinations. Please work directly with your airline. If we can support refund requests in any other way, please contact [email protected].
