Poster Session FAQs

Q: What is a description of the On-Demand format?

A:

New in 2022, the NERCOMP Annual Conference is offering virtual programming: On-Demand content. This format is perfect for those creative types who want to share their ideas and expertise but are unable to attend in-person or would prefer to share in a virtual format. These presentations should demonstrate the use of an emerging technology, practice for teaching and learning, or a technical implementation in the early stages of development.

Q: What are the guidelines for producing my On-Demand recording?

A:

You should plan for your video to be 6–15 minutes long. Any additional content can be covered through supplemental handouts. You may record the presentation using a screen-share program such as Zoom. Tip: Have the light source in front of you so you are clearly seen. We suggest you use NERCOMP logos, which you can download here as well as the NERCOMP PowerPoint Template.

Ensure both your video and any supplemental documents are accessible. Here’s a great resource from NERCOMP member Wesleyan University on making documents accessible if you need it!

Q: Do I need to caption my recording?

A:

Q: What if I prefer to not upload a video but just send files?

A:

That is fine! Supplemental materials will be included on the Canvas page with your video. There is no limit on the number of supplemental files that you can upload to your folder; however, we suggest that you be selective and limit them so as not to overwhelm attendees. Please ensure that all documents are accessible to a screen reader.
