Session Type: Professional Development
Does your university ID card allow hackers to easily steal funds or gain door-access to sensitive areas? A popular vendor's card system can allow easy access to financial accounts and door-access by unauthorized persons depending on an initial setup choice. Virtually any card system can be vulnerable to this attack depending on its setup. This talk will demonstrate the vulnerability, show how you can find if your system is vulnerable, and explain simple ways to defend against it. Discussion will also include university ID numbers—when they become sensitive information and how to keep them from becoming sensitive.
