Virtualization beyond Servers: Delivering a New Desktop and Application Deployment Strategy
Thursday, May 17, 2012 | 10:45AM–11:45AM | White River Ballroom B
Session Type:
Professional Development
This presentation will highlight a new model for delivering desktops and applications as a service from the perspective of several leading academic institutions. This new approach is fundamentally changing the way desktops are currently constructed, delivered, and managed. Decoupling the user persona from the local OS and application layers lessens the need for local desktop support and gives technical staff located in schools and departments more capacity to innovate. Whether desktops are delivered through server-based computing, hosted on virtual desktops or PCs, or provided in combination, the user experience remains consistent and predictable.
