Institutions of higher education are uniquely positioned to synthesize multiple datasets to enhance operational responses to a pandemic. Attend this panel to learn how the University of Maryland, Indiana University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and others used employee, student, and community data in their COVID-19 response efforts, including identifying hot-spots, managing compliance, and supplementing contact tracing. Speakers will discuss the challenges faced in balancing individuals’ privacy rights and expectations against their institutions’ health and safety efforts. They will also explore their institutions’ approach to using COVID-19 response data for generalizable research efforts, as well as lessons learned throughout the pandemic.
