The Data Center and the Path to the Cloud: What Lies Ahead?

Thursday, May 17, 2012 | 3:05PM–4:05PM | White River Ballroom D
Session Type: Professional Development
Economic and political pressures continue to drive different thinking in the data center. The data center will eventually be a mix of both on-premise (private cloud) and off-premise (public cloud) functions. We will explore the challenges of today's data center, how the journey to the cloud requires moving from physical silo thinking to virtual silo thinking, the effect of efficiencies on silo costs, and how management of a data center needs to evolve into orchestration of an ecosystem. The transformation to the cloud is a journey, and understanding the path is critical to balancing your cloud architecture decisions.
