Member QuickTalk | Partnerships in Instruction: Deepening Collaboration Among Instructional Support Staff, Faculty and Students

Teaching and learning is of critical importance to academic libraries as they seek to align themselves with the mission of their universities. To effectively support faculty in their teaching, librarians and other instructional support staff need techniques and tools to foster collaboration. The demand for online instructional support during the pandemic affirmed the necessary role of libraries in assisting students and faculty. Join us to discuss how librarians might join forces with instructional support staff such as learning designers, instructional technologists, professional developers for centers of teaching and learning to enhance collaborative work with faculty and students. Questions we will explore together include:

  • What are your challenges in supporting courses?
  • How can we enhance our collaboration to better support courses?
  • What processes and relationships do we need for collaborative instructional support?
  • What kind of professional development and/or workplace learning among staff and faculty might support these efforts?

The main audience for this QuickTalk is instructional librarians, instructional technologists, learning designers, professional development staff (in centers of teaching and learning), and other instructional support staff who would like to collaborate to improve teaching and learning.
