IT Resource Allocation: Before and After Implementing a Portfolio and Project Management System

This session will outline the multiyear evolution of the IT resource allocation methodology used by UNH. We'll explore the progression of understanding how central IT human resource time is spent and projecting future resource utilization through the use of various tools, from basic Excel spreadsheet tracking, to a homegrown tool, to a recently implemented commercial portfolio and project management solution. We'll share the challenges, successes, and lessons learned of adopting a culture of IT time accountability.
