Students with impairments or disabilities often enroll in online courses to avoid potential barriers in a face-to-face environment. However, the digital classroom can also create challenges for students if course materials are not created with accessibility in mind. This session will provide realistic, simple, and cost-effective accessibility solutions that faculty members and instructional designers can incorporate into their daily tasks. Implementing these solutions will build a strong foundation for an accessible online environment, ensuring an inclusive educational experience for all students.
Outcomes: Explore the challenges faced by impaired learners when course content is inaccessible * Evaluate appropriate accessibility solutions for their online classes * Build accessible course materials to promote an inclusive online environment
