Creating Digital Scholarship Services

Wednesday, March 29 | 8:15AM–9:05AM | Room 553
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Standard Presentation
Digital scholarly practice has been gathering steam for almost a decade at Boston University. In the past couple of years, momentum has picked up, and the libraries are a major driver. We will present our first year's activities, ranging from training to advocacy to experimental pedagogy and open access librarianship, and discuss our general approach to strategic collaboration in a large and diverse university. We will then open the floor to the community to share best practices.

Outcomes: Learn about the nascent digital scholarship support setup at a large research university library system * Describe strategies an academic library in a large community might use to effectively support digital scholarship and advocate for expansion of its own services * Critique strategic approaches to setting up digital scholarship services in academic libraries and brainstorm solutions
