Organizational Readiness for University-Wide Disruptive Application Implementation: A Recipe for Success

Wednesday, March 29 | 2:15PM–3:05PM | Room 552
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
Many universities are starting, preparing, or in the midst of implementing large disruptive systems like an ERP or CRM. Why ERP at this time? Most universities did a major ERP implementation as part of Y2K. A refresh (usually 10 years out) was delayed due to financial crisis of 2008. Most universities could only afford a large financial investment in 2013. The past two years has seen a significant move by universities to decide on their ERP future. Interestingly at this time, the ERP landscape has changed. The New School/Parsons School of Design selected Workday for HR, payroll, and finance. We are now live on these systems. The journey to get there was much different from what we usually do for these types of projects. Learn how to prepare your functional departments, IT organization, and entire university for this massive disruptive change in order to succeed.

Outcomes: Gain strategies to prepare your organization for success when implementing a disruptive change * Identify the "known unknowns" * Plan for a successful change management
