Learning Space Design Community of Practice

Tuesday, March 19 | 3:00PM–3:45PM ET | Room 550
Session Type: Breakout Session
Learning spaces, in all of their wide variety, remain a key aspect of the teaching and learning landscape. They represent a significant investment for our institutions, not only in their physical and technological outfitting but also with respect to the support of all who use them. So there's always a lot to talk about with respect to learning spaces. This discussion group will be rather "unconferencey" by design. We will begin by quickly identifying the key 2–4 questions we'd like to discuss and then, as a group, work our way through them, sharing insights, methods, and best practices. Some candidate questions are listed below. Please bring your own, and we will address as many as time allows.

Outcomes: How much technology is "enough" to enable and support active learning? How can we best integrate learning space design and instructional design? How can we best measure the impact our learning spaces are having? What is meant by an "accessible active learning classroom"?
