Together We Can Do More: Working with Distributed IT to Promote Campus Information Security

Purdue University formed a Security Officers Working Group with members from centralized and departmental IT units in July 2005. This presentation will discuss the organization's formation and its evolution from a loosely knit, low-participation forum to an active forum providing meaningful input and advocacy for improving campus information security. The presentation will also discuss the challenges native to this type of group and how to combat them to promote continued success.
