This session will discuss how a small, developing privacy office contends with a large research university through incident response, awareness training, and community outreach. The session will address surviving a privacy function assessment, changes in reporting structure, and how to promote visibility of the office through partnerships with other units such as IT security, human resources, and general counsel.

Know where your office is located in the reporting tree and what that may mean to you * Know what your privacy compliance responsibilities are (the ABCs) * Be able to identify your "partners" who help you maintain privacy and compliance
