Wednesday, April 11 | 4:00PM–5:00PM ET | Maryland Ballroom E, Fifth Floor
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
It takes many resources to protect ships sailing higher ed waters. How does an institution with limited resources (crew members and dollars) begin to develop a security strategy in an ocean of uncertainty filled with sharks (hackers) and storms (other factors influencing results)? In this session, we will show how our university developed and continues to implement a security strategy with very few resources. This will include hardware, software, and education/compliance changes over a period of time. The key is keeping the ship (institution) moving forward.

Outcomes: Define key strategic steps to continually improve your security strategy * Understand how to implement a security strategy with limited resources * Identify actions necessary to ensure security collaboration across the campus
