Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Interactive Presentation
Who's Steering the Ship? Understanding the Crew in Data Management It's not just security staff who are responsible for managing data—privacy and data officers are key members of the crew. Sometimes, it's hard to see where one role stops and another starts. This session will explore the roles and responsibilities of security, privacy, and data managers, as well as where they converge and where they don't. We'll also discuss how to work with each program effectively.

Outcomes: Explore the major data governance roles at an institution * Consider ways these roles differ and what that means for their priorities and our response * Consider ways these roles are the same and how we can leverage them to improve the risk profile of the university
