Reinventing the Computer Lab: Case Studies with Emory, UC Irvine, and Ithaca
There is an emerging consensus that computer labs must undergo a major transformation to stay relevant. Higher ed IT departments are facing a number of trends driving change. Computer labs are one of the largest IT investments, yet labs are unevenly utilized, in part because levels of student device ownership are near 100 percent and students have a strong preference for their own devices. Faculty seek an interactive, collaborative environment critical to student success. And while interest in online learning, hybrid learning, and flipped classes is on the rise, these offerings present their own technical challenges. In this panel discussion, you will hear from innovative leaders at a diverse set of universities on how to address these challenges and transform computer labs.
