Learn and Design 4 | Start with Students: A Policy Development Approach

This session explores how students at College Unbound led the way in policy development for usage of generative AI for faculty and students. In spring 2023, students enrolled in "AI & Education," a course where they learned about, played with, and considered the different possible applications of generative AI in order to craft and test-pilot a set of usage policies that have now become institutional policy.

Learning Outcomes: 

1. Articulate the importance of including students in the policy-creation process.

2. Identify a structure for building out an institutional policy that centers on students.

NOTE: Learn and Design sessions include a 15 minute presentation followed by a 45 minute collaboratiave design experience in virtual session breakout rooms.
