Webinar | Centralized Backup and Recovery: Protecting Data in the Modern School
This webinar is a part of the EDUCAUSE Industry & Campus Solutions series.
Schools today are generating and storing more data than ever before, data that is spread across SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, faculty devices, cloud storage, and institutional servers. However, many schools do not have an effective disaster recovery plan in place to protect this data. This leaves data vulnerable to unsanctioned editing or deletion, ransomware attacks, or loss due to SaaS retention policies. For modern schools, complete and centralized backup is essential to prevent the loss of accurate student and school data. In this session, we will cover implementing best practices for backup and disaster recovery, dealing with ransomware attacks, and ensuring that cloud data is secure against accidental loss. We will focus in on the University of Washington’s experience of setting up on-site backup for more than 200 faculty PCs.
