Webinar | Undergoing Digital Transformation: How to evaluate and implement a new Learning Management System

This webinar is a part of the EDUCAUSE Industry Insights series.

Universities continuously strive to adapt and evolve their educational infrastructure to meet the ever-changing needs of students, faculty, and staff. A crucial component of this endeavor is the selection and implementation of an effective Learning Management System (LMS). This abstract presents a case study of a University of Southern California (USC) comprehensive evaluation and successful implementation of a new LMS.

The first half of the presentation will delve into the USC evaluation process, which involved extensive research, stakeholder engagement, and rigorous testing. Through a multidisciplinary approach, USC assessed various LMS platforms against a set of predefined criteria, considering factors such as course creation, communication, evaluation and grading, customer support, and accessibility.

The second half will cover the implementation of the LMS, which will explore the intricacies of project governance, faculty involvement, course migration, training, integrations, technical support, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation. This section will highlight how USC's intentional and robust approach to organizational change management was the agent for continuous improvement and alignment with the evolving needs of the university community.
