Wednesday, October 18, 2023 | 11:50AM–12:30PM ET
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Live Session
Student engagement in higher education continuously evolves with the introduction of new resources. Innovative instructional design methods can make learning pathways clear and coherent for the future. As a gamification tool, incoming resources such as artificial intelligence (AI) can increase student engagement and retention. Even though new technology exists to improve the quality of education regarding student focus, the educational system needs to take risks and adjust due to traditional customs to create new learning opportunities. These educational practices may have been influential in the past, but repeating them today would be unfair to tomorrow's students. In this session, you will learn how to use gamification and artificial intelligence in higher education institutions to develop effective teaching practices and increase student achievement. Implementing these instructional strategies has the potential to revolutionize learning across all disciplines. The presenters will describe the successes, challenges, and unexpected outcomes that resulted from implementing this faculty development approach to meet the specific needs of their faculty. To ensure that all students receive effective instruction, participants will generate challenges ito convince faculty to alter their teaching practices and offer possible solutions.
