The Future of E-Learning, A.I., and the Virtual Classroom: A Fireside Chat Featuring Microsoft and Class
Over the past eight months, interest in and the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT have exploded in the consumer, campus, and corporate sectors. An April 2023 EDUCAUSE QuickPoll revealed that more than four-fifths (83 percent) of the 441 surveyed campus participants (IT officers at various levels) agreed that “generative AI will profoundly change higher education in the next three to five years.” In this fireside chat, hear directly from innovators and ed tech pioneers, including Michael Chasen from Class Technologies and Serena Sacks-Mandel from Microsoft, regarding observations and predictions for the future of e-learning, A.I., and next generation virtual classrooms.
The lively discussion will be recorded and moderated by Casey Green, founder of The Campus Computing Project. Note: Class and Microsoft have come together to create Class for Teams, which is now available for release. Class for Teams leverages the audio and video capabilities of Microsoft Teams and is purpose-built for instruction, allowing institutions to facilitate active learning, collaboration, and engagement in online classes and virtual instructor-led training.
