Build a Professional Roadmap: Tips for Young Professionals and Leaders

Wednesday, November 13, 2024 | 1:00PM–1:45PM ET
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Live Session

Intentionality is everything. Both young professionals, and leaders who supervise young professionals, can benefit from outlining a roadmap for career development.

In this session, you’ll hear from young professionals representing a diverse group of institutions. They will provide practical advice for young professionals as they build their career maps, and inform leaders on what young professionals need from leadership.

For young professionals, we’ll explore the importance of starting with self-assessment and discovery to help you recognize, evaluate, and align your values and interests in a career and institution. Deciding these necessary components will help you grow deeper in your career while improving leadership skills with the resources you have available. Designing this career roadmap will ensure an easier navigation through nuances and changes at your institution.

For leaders, we’ll review how you can collaborate with your team to build their professional roadmaps, how you can leverage existing institutional resources to support your team, and what young professionals need from leadership.
