In the past few years, institutions have developed strategies and built capabilities to enable faculty and staff to provide more timely, personalized, and holistic services to students/learners. In making these investments, higher education leaders are seeking to build "responsive institutions," or educational institutions that are equipped with the digital tools, information, and human capacity to enable faculty/staff to provide high-quality educational and wraparound support that helps get ahead of student challenges and meets students in the moments that matter. The "responsive institution" is a learner-centric framework built on a four-pillar strategy designed to provide higher education IT and administrative leaders with a model for investing in technology, connecting siloed data sources and IT systems, and rethinking how faculty and staff support students.
