Cooking Up Innovation: Crafting a Menu of AI Faculty Development Options

Tuesday, October 22, 2024 | 11:30AM–12:15PM CT | Meeting Room 006AB, River Level
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session

At the University of Florida, we are “building an AI University” where AI is for everyone. Ensuring that AI fluency is approachable by all faculty from all disciplines requires an innovative strategy. This session will explore how instructional designers and educational technologists collaborated across campus to serve a menu of faculty development options for AI assistance, comprising a full “three-course meal” of opportunities. Participants will explore a buffet of options that include appetizers (flexible, concise, and digestible trainings), main courses (in-depth, long-lasting learning communities), and desserts (high- touch, one-on-one consults). Each level will outline the key ingredients, including collaborators, resources, and approaches, to help participants design AI faculty development at their institutions.

Session presenter, Leslie Mojeiko is the recipient of the 2024 EDUCAUSE Rising Star Award.

Award sponsored by Moran Technology Consulting, Mission Partner.
