From Silos to Insights: Leveraging Learning Space Analytics

Wednesday, October 23, 2024 | 4:00PM–4:45PM CT | EDUCAUSE Commons, Teaching & Learning Central Poster Area
Session Type: Poster Session
Delivery Format: Poster Session
This session will explore how institutions can tackle the challenge of integrating and visualizing diverse learning space datasets to support data-informed, strategic decision-making. Traditionally, data sources related to teaching and learning environments have been siloed, making it difficult to accurately assess data on campus learning spaces. The session will provide an in-depth look at strategies for analyzing and combining data from various sources, including room information, utilization, course schedules, audiovisual equipment, Learning Space Rating System (LSRS), and IT service tickets. By creating digestible reports and dashboards, institutions will be able to promote data democratization and integration, ultimately leading to more informed decisions on space upgrades and master planning. Participants will gain an understanding of the potential benefits of integrating learning space data and learn practical steps they can take to begin planning similar visualizations on their own campuses. The session will also address potential challenges and solutions associated with these types of data integration projects.
