Across the nation, colleges and universities are trying to address the challenge of declining student mental health by expanding wellness support services for students. A college makerspace can play an integral role in the effort to support student connections and belonging with technology. This project demonstrates that through inclusive design of the makerspace and programming, and intentional integration of strategies to foster student connections, a makerspace can become a nexus for learning, interactions and relationship-building.
