Universities encounter significant challenges in adopting generative AI, including security risks, governance issues, and concerns about academic integrity, often necessitating extensive consultations. With a plethora of generative AI solutions available, each presenting unique advantages and challenges—and typically at a high cost—it's vital to understand effective strategies. This session explores how two different University of California campuses approached these challenges: one by developing their own generative AI infrastructure, and the other through strategic vendor partnerships, both ultimately successful in deploying generative AI broadly across campus. Join us to learn from their experiences, which have been featured in several prominent publications, and discover actionable insights for your institution.
