Scaling Innovation: Design a Generative AI Expo for Your Campus (separate registration is required)

Monday, October 21, 2024 | 8:00AM–4:00PM CT | Meeting Room 206, Second Level
Session Type: Preconference Workshop
Delivery Format: Additional Fee Program

Join us to discover how to effectively integrate emerging generative AI into your university’s educational and administrative practices. This hands-on workshop will guide participants through the design and implementation of an AI expo tailored to your institution's specific needs. From small teams to large divisions, and even institution-wide initiatives, participants will create engaging exhibits that showcase real-world AI applications.

Workshop facilitators will share their experiences as they recount how a show-and-tell exercise among colleagues led to a successful university expo for faculty, students, and staff. Participants will discover how to identify AI innovators at their institution and navigate campus politics surrounding AI use.

Using templates and a framework provided by the facilitators, participants will create a sample expo exhibit to share with the group. All exhibits will be added to a “ready to implement” toolkit full of generative AI resources. Facilitators will lead a discussion and reflection session, allowing participants to share feedback to improve session outcomes. Participants will leave this workshop with the hands-on experience of designing a generative AI expo, a complete toolkit of examples and templates, and a framework to implement similar programming at their institution or community.
