Federated Identity: Your Key to Privacy, Security, and Access to Services

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 | 3:30PM–4:15PM | Harborside Ballroom D
Session Type: Professional Development
Access to the multitude of online information resources requires a robust identity and access management (IAM) infrastructure. A strategic focus and carefully planned approach to IAM can also increase user privacy, improve information security, and reduce operational costs. The InCommon Federation provides a common framework for trustworthy shared management of access to information resources. This session will explore how Johns Hopkins University has implemented InCommon and federated identity management as part of its infrastructure to provide access to on-campus and off-campus resources.
