Teaching Technology Virtually: Beyond the Desktop

A crucial part of teaching forensic investigation online has been the need for real-time access to state-of-the-art, industry-specific computer equipment and software tools. To meet this need, SU has developed a unique, virtualized technological environment that permits unlimited student access to servers, desktops, network-specific configurations, and advanced computer software analysis tools in addition to scenarios specifically related to forensic investigation. Attendees will be introduced to this new virtualized computing environment that has opened up a whole new level of educational opportunities for students and faculty and that can be replicated in other educational settings.
