Penn State University is in the midst of a multi-year project to transition out of an existing calendar service and implement a new integrated e-mail and calendar service known as the University Collaboration Service (UCS). The project requires a high level of cooperation between Penn State's central IT organization and its distributed IT organizations. This session will explore the differences in perspective and emphasis between central and distributed IT that became evident over the course of the project with respect to planning, implementation, and support and will focus on cooperative efforts to understand those differences and work toward joint success.
