This special "Experience IT" session is designed to offer a hands-on, highly interactive introduction to an emerging tool and explore its potential impact for professional development and the classroom. Please bring a laptop or mobile device to the session to ensure you can engage with the presenter. If possible, bring along earbuds or a headset, as well. Seating will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The social media tsunami has swamped our campuses. From Twitter, Google+, and Facebook to Flickr, Pinterest, and VoiceThread, social media tools are being used to access information and break down the walls of the classroom, making social networking anytime, anywhere the norm, all the while challenging us to find the best new tools to use in innovative and effective ways on campus. This session will engage you with a few key social media tools and provide a quick tour of the social media landscape on campuses.
