The Learning Lab experience is supported by both asynchronous and synchronous components. Each of the two Learning Cycles includes a set of resources, an asynchronous discussion, and an interactive live session, all of which culminate in the development of a project or application to apply learning to local and specific contexts in support of the learning objectives.

This is a live session to learn the details of the Learning Lab, the Canvas site, and expectations for the microcredential. There will also be time to get to know your fellow Lab partners and facilitator.
Learning Cycle 1: Key Elements and Considerations in Creating a Security and Privacy Awareness Plan
February 1, 2023, 12:00–1:30 p.m. ET
The presenter will discuss the key elements needed in a successful security and privacy awareness plan, including goals, audience segmentation, messaging channels, campus partnerships, and meaningful metrics.
Participants will begin work on identifying the components needed in their plans.
Learning Cycle 2: Developing Key Messaging around Security and Privacy
February 8, 2023, 12:00–1:30 p.m. ET
The presenter will discuss key considerations in developing effective messaging around security and privacy awareness and will recommend specific topics for audience members to comprehend in their plans.
Participants will develop messaging around key security and privacy topics for specific audiences, considering barriers and benefits to engaging the audiences and effecting changes in attitudes and behaviors.
Review and Reflect Session
February 15, 2023, 12:00–1:30 p.m. ET
The Learning Lab will conclude with an application or implementation project (described below) and a closing live session to review and process the learning from the lab.
Lab Implementation Project
Leveraging the work done in previous sessions, participants will create a strategic security and privacy awareness plan that includes specific activities for the academic year.
