Revamping Cybersecurity Education: Innovative Approaches for the Digital Age

Thursday, May 02 | 1:45PM–2:30PM CT | Regency, Second Floor
Session Type: Industry Led
Delivery Format: Presentation/Panel Session
Despite years of focus on the growing cybersecurity skills gap, it remains near an all-time high. There are just 72 cybersecurity workers for every 100 job openings in the U.S. Higher education institutions and industry training partners cannot solve this problem separately; they need to work together to create innovative education pathways that combine the best of both worlds—empowering students with in-demand skills, and organizations with a quicker pathway to the talent that addresses their unique skills gaps. Leaders from Abeline Christian University (ACU) and Infosec Institute will share how industry training and academia are working together, what lessons they’ve learned so far, and how training will continue to evolve to keep pace with the needs of higher ed institutions and the larger industry.
