Tuesday, May 20, 2025 | 10:30AM–11:15AM ET | Harborside Ballroom B, 4th Floor
Session Type: Breakout Session
Delivery Format: Industry Led
In the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a potential game-changing force for enhancing how we work. This presentation examines innovative applications of AI to enhance security assessments, including IAM Program, Zero Trust Maturity, IT Security Program, and Compliance Assessments. We will present a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for AI-supported IAM Program Assessments built on the Moran IAM Assessment Framework and showcase how AI amplifies human expertise instead of replacing it. In addition to demonstrating our MVP for IAM Program Assessments, this session will serve as a community forum inviting discussion and feedback on AI benefits, limitations, and risks. We’ll explore generative AI benefits—streamlined processes and tailored insights—and its limitations, emphasizing security, privacy, and ethical challenges. Can AI securely assess institutions without introducing unacceptable risks? In addition to our presentation and demonstration, we will lead an open discussion among higher education cybersecurity experts, challenging assumptions and offering diverse perspectives. Attendees will gain a nuanced understanding of AI's potential to advance cybersecurity assessments and practical knowledge of how to harness generative AI capabilities.
