Sure, universities are innovative laboratories when it comes to technological advancements! But they are also innovative laboratories for policies and practices, especially around privacy and AI! In this follow-up to Privacy 101, workshop attendees will delve into the specifics of a privacy program in higher ed. Learners will explore specific aspects of what a privacy program entails, such as setting up a governance structure, developing policies, reviewing vendors, and setting up an educational, training, and awareness program. We will work through some real-world examples of issues a privacy office must handle and brainstorm various innovative solutions. Learners will walk away with specific ideas about how to set up a basic program and more advanced techniques for managing privacy and advocating for their community.
