Event Experience

Resilient Leadership in the Workplace: Leveraging Neuroscience and Emotional Intelligence to Navigate Adversity will be delivered online and includes four sessions with focused resources combined with synchronous, live conversations (via Zoom). The event will finish with a fourth session to integrate and apply new skills, along with an opportunity for questions and answers with the facilitator. Participants are encouraged to engage in all four sessions, as the sessions build upon one another.

Themes

Session 1 | Leveraging Neuroscience and Emotional Intelligence to Hack Adversity

In this session, we'll learn how your brain and emotions impact leadership success, as well as the first two steps of the proprietary four-step Adversity Hack. These steps provide proven strategies to master triggering, reduce negative emotions, induce calm, promote clear thinking, and focus your brain on a productive path out of stress and into powerful, lasting resolutions.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn a practical strategy to reroute stress-induced derailment and regain a calm and clear mind in adverse workplace situations.
  • Learn how to put thought distortions in check, build awareness of complex workplace dynamics, and chart a rational and effective path forward in times of adversity.

Session 2 | From Stress to Success: Becoming the Master of Your Mind

In this session, we’ll learn steps 2 and 3 of the Adversity Hack to find deep personal empowerment, unlock opportunities and create powerful solutions to pervasive and persistent challenges.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how your ego and survival thinking have obscured your personal power, and practice a simple, but effective, strategy to find opportunities to positively influence the most challenging and complex workplace situations.
  • Connect with your deepest values, principles, and purpose as a leader to develop resilience and inform choices that align with them.

Session 3 | Supporting Team Resilience

In this third session, we’ll understand how psychological and emotional needs are causing stress and disengagement in those you lead, and develop and learn to apply practical strategies to help your team re-stabilize in even the most stressful times.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how psychological and emotional needs influence behavior in the workplace and trigger dysfunctional responses or disengagement.
  • Help your team members identify and tap into their intrinsic motivation to gain more resilience and fulfillment in their work.
  • Practice a model for effective dialogue to guide those you work with to identify and express their needs and find win-win solutions in every challenging or adversarial situation.

Session 4 | Masterful Empowerment: An Evidence-Based Framework for Leaders

In this fourth session, we’ll clarify your role in empowering your team to develop their resiliency skills and increase their responsibility while growing personally and professionally. We’ll learn and practice a proven framework for delegation and empowerment to masterfully lead team members to higher levels of responsibility and/or new roles.

Learning Objectives:

  • Dispel common myths about delegation, skill development, and professional growth to unlock a new mindset for effective empowerment in the workplace.
  • Learn when and how to apply an evidence-based Empowerment Framework to support professional growth in those you lead.
  • Integrate the psychology and frameworks from previous sessions to deeply understand human development and your role in masterfully supporting your own success as well as the success of those you lead.

This session focuses on integration and implementation of the lessons and tactics shared and will be customized based on participants’ needs after the first three sessions. We'll consolidate insights from the first three sessions to demonstrate how they fit together to inform your practice. We'll also discuss previously untouched subjects and delve deeper into covered content, accompanied by a substantial Q&A with Meg, and more.
