Session 1 | Setting the Stage: Understanding AI Literacies Through an Institutional Lens

How can our institution harness the power of AI literacies to not only prepare our community for the future of learning and work, but also to foster an environment that prioritizes innovation, inclusivity, and workforce readiness?

This session will explore AI literacies through the multidimensional lens of an institution preparing its community for the future of learning and work through a growth mindset aligned to mission and organizational values. Participants will discuss the strategic importance of AI literacies in shaping a future-ready institution and examine the 8 Dimensions of AI Literacies within the context of institutional needs, goals, and challenges. The session will focus on aligning AI-readiness initiatives with broader strategic priorities such as enhancing learner success, fostering innovation, and preparing the academic community for an AI-enabled workforce.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define AI literacies in the context of institutional readiness for the future of learning and work.
  • Analyze the strategic needs of their institutions and communities in relation to AI integration and literacies development.
  • Identify how the 8 dimensions of AI literacies connect to institutional goals for inclusivity, innovation, and workforce preparedness.
  • Develop a strategic vision for AI-readiness initiatives that align with institutional priorities and community needs.

Session 2 | Collaborative Approaches for Assessing Institutional AI Readiness

How can we cultivate a shared vision and strengthen collaboration across roles and departments to ensure that AI readiness is a collective, institution-wide endeavor?

In this session, participants will assess the collaborative literacies in place for AI and how effectively stakeholders across their institutions are working together to foster AI readiness. The session will cover methods for evaluating existing capacities, identifying gaps, and understanding the roles of various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners. Participants will explore strategies to strengthen collaboration, improve communication, and build a shared vision for AI integration.

  • Evaluate the current state of collaboration and stakeholder engagement for AI integration within their institutions.
  • Identify key stakeholders and their roles in supporting AI-readiness initiatives.
  • Develop strategies for fostering cross-functional collaboration and building a shared vision for AI readiness.
  • Create a plan for enhancing stakeholder engagement and communication to support AI literacies development.

Session 3 | Collaboration, Creation, and Connection: Developing Culture and Professional Learning Strategies for AI Literacies

How can we build learning opportunities and resources that empower our community to confidently navigate AI’s evolving landscape while fostering a commitment to ethical practices and lifelong learning? How can we, as leaders, cultivate an institutional culture that integrates and supports AI literacies development in alignment with strategic initiatives and community needs, both now and in the future?

This session will explore how institutions can develop a sustainable culture of AI literacies through professional learning strategies that support faculty, staff, and students. Participants will examine best practices for designing and implementing training programs, resources, and policies that foster ethical AI use, continuous learning, and academic innovation. Leaders will also reflect on their role in shaping an environment where AI literacies are embedded within institutional values, ensuring that AI readiness aligns with broader strategic goals.

Through discussion and guided activities, participants will identify key actions to support AI literacies development, strengthen collaboration across roles, and create a roadmap for sustainable implementation.

  • Assess the effectiveness of current practices that support AI literacies initiatives and meet community needs, and explore methods of fostering a connective culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity in AI use.
